ABOUT US
Aviation has been at the heart of the AeroGB business since 2004. Owning flight schools in the UK and France, and through a partnership in the USA, AeroGB offered flight training to new and experienced pilots. Delivering UK-approved flight training in the climates of France and the USA proved more conducive to condensed flight training and provided alternative flight destinations for the enthusiast.
AeroGB provided flight training and classroom tuition for the Private Pilot Licence by UK Flight Instructors. Our French Flight Instructors provided specialised local training such as mountain flying in the Pyrenees. With regular transfer flights between the UK and France offering our customers cross-border flight training with both UK and French Flight Instructors.
Adopting the Cirrus aircraft for training saw the development and introduction of electronic classroom training aids and simulators to support the flight training being offered.
2004
AeroGB was early in the introduction of the Cirrus aircraft for private pilot training offering substantial improvements in safety and improved cabin environment, changes that had not been seen in the private pilot market for decades. This offered our customers a new comfortable environment with the latest electronic cockpit instruments, improving flight safety. With airbags and an airframe parachute system, it proved very popular with our customers and the aviation authorities in France and the UK.
2005
In 2005 AeroGB partnered with a company based in the USA specialising in airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and airborne Geo-Spatial Intelligence (GSI) missions. The relationship provided experience in aircraft sourcing, acquisition and management, contract development, negotiation, and tendering within both the private and public sectors, whilst adding to the training portfolio being offered.
2011
In 2011 AeroGB was restructured for a new management team widening expertise with the appointment of a new Chairman and subsequently a new CEO. This provided a wealth of expertise and several decades of experience from within the Ministry of Defence, Intelligence Services, Home Office, and Policing.
AeroGB launched its managed services in the airborne special mission market to the private and public sectors. Having the skills and workforce to conduct airborne GSI missions, a platform with a relevant payload was offered. Operations started with aerial survey work within the forest sector in Scotland.
2012
Aerial survey missions were conducted while new strategic partners were formed to take the managed services being offered to the European market, assisting with the strengthening of the European borders by offering new efficient airborne special missions. This saw AeroGB pull resources together from leading companies to demonstrate capabilities during a trial operated by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, Frontex.
Following a successful demonstration during the Frontex trial, work continued in Greece, Bulgaria, and Spain with new relationships created and opportunities taken to showcase the managed services being offered by AeroGB. Strategic partnerships were built with technology companies seeing the payload continually updated, including the remote operation of the payload suit and new technology sensors from leading manufacturers.
Partnerships were created in the forestry, utility and construction sectors which saw new specialised aerial surveying services developed using the latest sensor technology available from our strategic partners whilst protecting our customers from the cost of leading-edge development.
2015
AeroGB assisted with the development of special mission capabilities and continued growing the list of strategic partners venturing into remotely piloted aircraft systems. AeroGB gained experience in various remotely piloted systems helping manufacturers develop their offering and provide guidance through the rules and regulations that were rapidly being developed for this emerging technology. AeroGB participated in various training courses and conferences with the view to operate its own remotely piloted aircraft solutions. However, this gradually saw the offering move towards consultancy services that assisted existing and new customers in improving technical solutions to drive efficiency and performance.
2023
Through the development of the consultancy services, new services were created for the dissemination of information via electronic means which in 2023 has seen the team grow to include a Creative Director to assist in the creation of a new brand in electronic publishing. Ambition GB will commence with the offering of eBooks from Author Steve Cooper, who has written help guides for the drone market.
